Meet the Team

Varian at Port Susan Dental Care in Stanwood, WA

Varian

Hello, my name is Varian. I am the Office manager and wife of Dr. Smith for over 40 years. I am here to help you with your scheduling and dental benefits questions. I have spent many years volunteering in the community with my kids' various sports and school functions. I spent over 23 years with the Stanwood ski program. Now, my spare time has been dedicated to renovating our 1916 home here in Stanwood. I also enjoy reading and keeping up with my young grandson.

Joann

Since 2017, I have worked at Port Susan Dental Care. Providing my patients with the best dental care possible is something I am passionate about. It takes work to maintain your gums and teeth, therefore without being intrusive or judgmental, I try to assist patients to realize their own special needs. My husband and I were introduced at the age of eighteen. Together, we have three grown children and two grandchildren. In addition to my love of my job and family, I enjoy gardening, tending to my koi pond and doing any other activities that allow me to stay at home and appreciate what I have.

Christy

I have been in the Dental field for over 15 years! I got my Dental Assisting license from Bellingham Technical College and worked as a Dental Assistant for many years before learning the front office. Working for Dr. Smith, I have the ability to work both chair-side and front desk which I love doing both! In my spare time I enjoy hiking, working in the yard with my husband with our never ending projects!

Ashley

Hello! My name is Ashley! I'm a local girl who grew up here in Stanwood. After graduating from Stanwood high school, I started my dental journey. Realizing dental was my calling, I went to school at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland where I earned my certifications to be a Dental Assistant. After spending 10 years working as an assistant, in 2019 I decided to pursue my dreams and I was accepted into Lake Washington's Dental Hygiene program. As a hygienist, I pride myself in building strong relationships with my patients so they feel at ease while at the dentist and be proud of their beautiful smile.
Personally, I married my best friend in 2019 and we own a home in my sweet "little" hometown! In March 2023, we were blessed with an amazing little boy named Lincoln who is our world. We enjoy spending time as a family outdoors, supporting our local sports teams.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing my love and passion for teeth!

Lily

Following in my mother's footsteps, I have wanted to pursue a career in dentistry my whole life! I was fortunate enough to start my career as a chair-side assistant right out of high school, working alongside my mother and being trained by one of Seattle's best dentists. My favorite part about dentistry is educating patients and helping my community. My free time is spent with my two horses, trail riding locally here in Stanwood at the tree farm or enjoying the great outdoors with my dog and partner Taylor.
I look forward to assisting you!
